Constitutional Literacy for Grades 9-12 (2:00)
Students will need to purchase the Constitutional Literacy Workbook. It is $29 through Apologia.
In this important high-school-level course the U.S. Constitution is brought to life for modern Americans by examining these questions: What does the Constitution actually say? What does it mean? What were the Founders’ intentions for this document? And how is it being interpreted to shape our laws and way of life today? This may be the most important course your student (and future voter) takes this year.
This class is taught by Kelly Jewell, a lifelong History enthusiast. She believes that the study of history can be enlivened through the use of primary resources, the study of individual lives, and by studying historical events in context with the literature, art, and music of the time. Mrs. Jewell is a former middle school history teacher and has undergraduate degrees in History and Deaf Education as well as a Masters in Education. She is entering her thirteenth year of homeschooling her four children, ages 11 to 17.
