Course: English II for Grades 10-12
Instructor: Ms. Callie Cornelius
Homework Description: Students will work on outlining and writing argumentative essays and research essays. Expect 3-4 hours a week outside of class.
Duration: 28 weeks
Course Description: This course is designed to submerge students in the two most prevalent writing forms used in college classes. The first semester will focus on argumentative essays through learning outline methods, formulation of arguments, the proper flow of an academic essay, and more. The second semester will be spent on research essays through focusing on research methods, finding sources, and writing bibliographies, among other topics. By the end of the year, students will have the ability to effectively communicate their ideas and the confidence to tackle college-level writing assignments. This course is a High School English credit.
English II is taught by Callie Cornelius, a homeschool graduate and current college student pursuing a degree in Ancient History with a minor in Literature. Callie benefited from learning from a wide range of curriculum during her homeschool education, including Classical Conversations and Veritas Press. This will be her third year teaching for Classical Conversations and her second year at FE.
