Course: History of Medieval Times & the Renaissance for Grades K-2

Curriculum: No textbook purchase required. Booklist will be provided before classes begin.
Homework Description: Students will be expected to read a selection of living books with parents at home, as well as, complete short notebook activities and hands-on projects. Approximate homework time is 1 – 1.5 hours per week.
Duration: 26 weeks
Course Description: Embark on an adventure with brave knights and fair ladies, feasts and tournaments, castles and cathedrals, master artists and inventors as we journey through Medieval Times and the Renaissance! We will explore this exciting era in history through living books, narration, and hands-on activities that will engage your student’s imagination and provide a feast of ideas from which they can draw as they continue to see God’s story unfold in the world. Students enrolled in this course are not expected to be reading independently.
This class will be taught by Jessica Smith, a Wake Forest University graduate, former public school teacher, and former private school reading specialist. Jessica has been homeschooling her six children for 8 years and will graduate her oldest child in spring 2022.
