Course: Mom’s Book Club

Instructors: Molly Graebert and Kaitlin VanderLinden

Email: Marian.graebert@gmail.com; avirtuouswife10@gmail.com

Class Description: We will gather weekly to discuss great books, enjoy good conversation, and sharpen our minds. The first book up will be Teaching from Rest: A Homeschooler’s Guide to Unshakeable Peace by Sarah Mackenzie. Subsequent books will be influenced by group input and will likely include a mixture of fictional, nonfictional and biblical selections. Participants will be encouraged to keep a “commonplace notebook” to help us retain salient points from the readings. Our book club will also have a community outreach component! Members will be encouraged to identify excellent books that are not owned by the Greensboro Public Library and to submit corresponding book purchase proposals. In this way, we can influence our local library’s offerings and hopefully help shape our city’s culture!

Homework Requirements: Reading selections from assigned books

Duration: 28 weeks

Books and Supplies required for purchase by families: TBD
