Course Description: This Early American History Through Literature study will take students on a journey through the first indigenous people of the Americas, the Viking discovery of the Americas, the exploration, colonization, settlement and establishment of the United States. The study spans from 1000 AD to the mid 1800’s.

Teacher Bio: My name is Tonya Murrell. I love helping kids learn by engaging them through interactive teaching methods including arts, crafts, drama and storytelling. I have experience in using alternative methods of teaching to help students that have special learning needs. I enjoy teaching history through a biblical perspective. I have 30 years of teaching experience from teaching high school history in the public schools, teaching various homeschool groups, working with the Rockingham Council of Bible Education, and teaching history and Bible at a private school. I have 3 children ages 22, 21 and 18, all of whom were homeschooled. I look forward to teaching your children history from a biblical perspective.

Method and Frequency of communication: I will send an email after class weekly to inform parents of needed information as well as a weekly folder with items needed for homework.
